Derek Wallace
Founder & Master Plumber
Derek Wallace grew up in Charleston, learned plumbing from his uncle, and spent 15 years working for larger contractors before starting Dock & Stack in 2008. He founded the practice out of frustration—he saw too many historic homes torn apart by contractors who didn't understand preservation, code requirements, or the value of craftsmanship.
Derek now leads project estimation, mentors apprentices, and handles the most complex retrofit work. He's licensed in South Carolina and Georgia, holds a journeyman plumber card, and sits on the membership committee of the Historic Charleston Foundation.
He lives in the Historic District with his wife, two dogs, and an ongoing renovation of a 1920s bungalow (which he uses as a living laboratory for retrofit techniques).
